now that studying has come to a standstill and yet another year coming to an end, reflections are done more often than not. it's been a tough year, i must say. all the pressure especially with exams every now and then, tests that seem like assignments 'cos they happen so frequently, the ups and downs of school life, cca commitments, the times when i wanted to give up studying when it became so overwhelming etc. i may forget all these after a few years, but one thing i'll never forget is His grace that truly is sufficient. because of all the experiences, it makes me realise how easily it is to forget that God is ever present and how we as humans tend to rely on our own strength to get things done. perhaps the reason why we complain at times is because He is not in the picture. He is the solution to every problem and there's only reason for thanksgiving because of that. for that reason, i know my results are in safe Hands, no matter how they turn out.
christmas after christmas, i often wow at the lightings and deco that can sometimes be really eye-catching. but as christmas draws near this year, i wow at the true story of christmas that perhaps started all the lighting and deco that we see these days. indeed the light has come. the birth of Jesus is not just a historical event, it's also a historic event. because of His birth, the timeline is split into AD and BC. it's one thing to know the true story of christmas and another to understand the true story of christmas. after praxis, a deeper meaning of christmas has taken root in my life. it's truly impacting, compelling and worth sharing.
it's so natural for us to share good food, good music and good stuff alike. how different is it with the good news?
personally, it's time to stop bargaining with God and get down to work. we think of our own conveniences and how it'll fit with giving of our time. how can it be called a gift when it doesnt take something out of us, when some sort of a sacrifice is not made.
You came from Heaven to earth to show the way from the earth to the cross my debt to pay from the cross to the grave from the grave to the sky
that's called sacrifice. it's so great that no other will compare.
as the song goes, christmas isn't christmas till it happens in your heart.
